Editing

After filming certain shots from our film we then went on editing the parts we filmed. To do this we had saved the footage we had filmed onto the video drive which we then imported onto final cut when we done this we were then ready to start editing the footage we had imported. The file we had imported included many shots of things that were not useful and didn't work we then decided as a group to remove them and only use the footage that was appropriate and was needed. Doing this aloud us to see as a group certain parts that didn't work out such as the swinging scene, we had used ourselves to do this when we had then realised it didn't work. We therefore then decided as a group to change it and use little children instead.

With the time we had once we had inserted and checked all the footage we had imported we then added titles and some still images. As part of our film opening we also took still images as this was what was needed for our jump cuts which included Henry VIII, Thomas Culpepper and Kathryn Howard. Thomas Culpepper was a character in our film opening, as a group we found it very hard to get a pitcher of him so we therefore took a recent picture of an actor who played him that was used and created as an oil painting. These stills of certain characters that link with the film will appear in quick classes in the opening of the film so that in our first edits we will have certain grabs of images that will link with our film. Doing stills will allow viewers to see certain aspects of what they may come across throughout the film which they can then build up upon later on as not much detail is given away.
Above we see one side is of the editing process we were doing with both screens where we were able to see the footage we were editing and the footage once edited played back. Next to it we see the clips we had then inserted and had used dragging those that were not necessary to another corner and leaving those that we were going to use on the other side.
Again on the same saved file we then uploaded images that we took on the still camera. These images were of Thomas Culpepper but were in different sizes which then revealed to his full face, we put these in order of size on the right hand side of the screen allowing it to be easy when dragging them onto the timeline which we will then use for our opening. The image of Culpepper was significant and important the images of cull pepper were shown all on the right hand side of the screen where they were different sizes. In the opening the image will go from a close up until the whole image of Thomas Culpepper is revealed

Overall this editing task was good although we didn't get a lot of footage done we were able to reflect upon the ones we completed and what we need to focus on next when filming.
