Tangled is a a story about a girl called Rapunzel trapped in a tower by a women who kidnapped her a birth it has be intertextually taken from the original story of a princess 'Rapunzel' an turn t into modern day version they called 'Tangled' just using aspects of the original fairytale like the long blonde hair.

The story has been made into a comedy to change it up but the fact that it had been taken from the original fairytale Rapunzel giving the viewers the familiar feelings towards it allowing them to connect to the characters and be engaged with the film. The character Rapunzel is more hands on and fiesty in comparison to the original princess who just waits on her rescuer. The prince in this film is very different to every other prince in Disney films he is a crook and very full of himself. The male lead in this movie is actually not a good guy from the start which puts a real modern twist to the movie. The film changes the significance of Rapunzels hair a swell, in Tangled her hair is magical whereas in the original fairytale its just long. They change things up to gain a connection with new viewers and those who already feel they know the story so they can see how it measures up to the original.

This a picture of the princess represents her in a way
unseen by any princesses in Disney films previous.
She is smiling and exploring without a prince leading
the way on a horse.
