TIMELINE OF TITLE SEQUENCES

Today we were looking at the timeline sequences of different films and our film was 'Marathon Man' .We had too see how different types of films and production companies opened their films and learn the different techniques.  I learned that if a well known actor eg Johnny Depp  was in a film his name would probably come before the title but if the actors are unknown their names would come after the production company and the title of the film.

I also learnt that when some media students are making their openings to their corse work they often treat it the same as a trailer but I now know that the title of a film opening comes mid way through the opening after the production company.

<FIRST CAME THE PRODUCTION COMPANY LOGO AT 0:04 SECS

<THEN THE PRODUCTION COMPANY NAME
AT 0:16 SECS

<THEN CAME THE PRODUCTION PEOPLE AT 0:19 SECS

<THEN THE DIRECTOR NAME AT 0:22

<NEXT CAME THE PICTURES AT 0:44 SECS

<THEN THE CAST FROM 0:45-56 SECS

< THEN THE TITLE CAME AT 1:05

< PICTURES AGAIN AT 1:23

< CO STARRING AT 1:24

<MUSIC COMPOSED AND CONDUCTED BY 1:29

<THEN EDITED BY AT 1:31

<PRODUCTIONS DESIGNS AT 1:34

<ASSOCIATED PRODUCER 1:38

<DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY 1:41

<SCREENPLAY 2:05

<PRODUCERS 2:08 AND LASTLY DIRECTED BY AT 2:15

Other things i have learnt about title sequences:

*the film title nearly always appears in the middle of the title sequence

*the fonts tend to normally be plain lower case

*the timeline we did was quite conventional to other title sequences although the title comes after the directors and cast.

*in our title sequence we looked at the production team and distributions it appeared twice
