The Happening is a 2008 science fiction thriller which was written, co-produced and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The plot revolves around a dangerous neurotoxin which causes anyone exposed to it to commit suicide. The protagonist who is a science teacher named Elliot, tries to escape the horror with his wife, his best friend and his best friend's daughter. I enjoyed the film as I felt that the plot was twisted and surprising, just as a good thriller should be.
