How different characters and places are portrayed in thrillers

How different characters and places are portrayed in thrillers to real life
Looking at many thrillers we see that characters are identified differently to how they are portrayed in real life. Looking at the images below shown to be of both characters and places we see they have all been represented differently to how they are in real life. Most of the representations of these images are negative as we see they are mostly based on dark colours allowing the viewers to feel scared in an isolated place.
Below i have shown some images of the original characters and some settings of thrillers that are used differently to create effect.
The above image of the character  Daveigh Chase who is shown to play the girl in the ring. We clearly see looking at the above image the differences used simply through the use of make up and props
Again we see above Daveigh Chase who is shown to play the girl in the ring is shown to represented negatively on the image on the right. The effect used on the character represents the genre of the film itself. Using photoshop allows us to create different effects on the characters face allowing it therefore to look scary.
The character above is shown to play in the thriller 'Orphan' Again we see photoshop is used to create a more effect on the characters face allowing us to take the character seriously.
Looking at the above image we see this is the representation of the setting used in 'Inception' The above image on the right is shown to be portrayed positive where we see the place is colourful and welcoming. However we see that the image on the right is of the place used in inception that is shown to of been represented very negatively, we see this through the use of colours used which are mostly dark shadowed colours. Using photoshop create the effect of a thriller character or setting allowing it to fit in with the mood portrayed.
Looking at the above image various amounts of colour schemes are used. Most colours used in thrillers are based on black and white usually shadowed images. We see most thrillers take a positive looking image which is colourful and then turn it into something negative and scary allowing for viewers to view the image more seriously rather than happily .

Overall looking at some images and settings used and changed through photo shop the effect given is shown to work through thrillers. This task allowed me to think of the setting and allowed me to think of the colours that are mostly used in thrillers.
