PLANNING- Title sequences that have influenced the film's opening

Influencing title sequences

ARLINGTON ROAD
As our film opening will be discrete, it will be influenced by the thriller Arlington Road. In the opening a lot of jump cuts are used and negative prints of images are used in a distorted way to make it look like a blurred vision of memories. In the opening the road sign Arlington Road is always referred back to to suggest that the events that had happened had happened at that road. We will use this same technique too in our thriller. A lot of jump cuts will be used and the name of the park will be seen a multiple of times to make the connection.
Here is the opening of Arlington Road.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK
Our films costumes and final scenes have been inspired by the new film The Woman in Black. In the trailer we see the main character standing at a window, a match cut it then seen to see what he is looking at and then we see that the character is not alone as a black, ghostly figure is seen next to him. In our film we will use is element as part of intertextuality but instead of the character not knowing of the ghost's being, the character will.

THE TUDORS
Another inspiration of our films opening is The Tudors. This was a television drama series that first aired in 2007 about the life evolving around Henry the 8th. The style of the title sequence uses many jump cuts, flashes and still images of main figures in that era. The camera shots vary and the pace towards the end of the opening gets increasingly quicker. We will use this opening as an influential piece as it shows the same effect that we would like to do in our thriller too.
Here is the title sequence of The Tudors-season 1.

All of these have inspired us all together to create the best title sequence that we can.
