Conventions of film openings
Film openings contain the names of the people starring in the film, and the people involved in the making, often edited to suit the film. For example the words may appear blurred at first or in a creepy font.
For example in the opening of Seven, the writing appears to suit what is shown on the screen, here the hands are quite scary, so the name has appeared in a creepy font. Also there is an interestingly creepy atmosphere created with the use of light in this opening, the light exposes certain things.
In horror films, the sound plays an important part, as the music is essential to create tension and suspense. The sound hepls to creat a tone in horror movies, as it needs to be scary.
Film openings need to set the scene, so it should introduce to us where things will take place, a birds eye view shot may be used, for example showing a large city area where everything will happen.
